Description
This feature is available in modules that have event based rules associated with them e. Note: In some modules, rules are defined on a separate sub-tab as shown above.
In other modules, there is simply a separate Rules section on the Attach. All available events for the type of record are displayed.
There are a limited of events for some modules, such as assets shown above. In contrast, there is an extensive list of available events for work orders. Events that have been enabled for the given record are marked as such on the list.
Rules attached using this method are automatically associated with the specific record and do not show in the Rules Manager. Following are a few examples of how this feature might be used: Attach a rule to an asset that texts or calls an individual or individuals when the equipment is taken out of service. Attach a rule to a work order that notifies a technician when it is complete, thus allowing other work dependent on this completion to begin.
Attach a rule to a purchase order that s the requester when it is approved or the sub-status is changed to a particular value. To attach a rule to a specific record: Access the record and open the Attach Tab.
If multiple sub-tabs are displayed, select the Rules Sub-Tab. Select the event upon which the rule should trigger.
Sjb an example, to set up a rule that will trigger a text or call to a technician when an asset is taken out of service, select the Asset Down rule. The Rule Actions Window will display, identifying both the Asset and Event: Specify the action s to be invoked when this event occurs using the exact same process that is used when actions are defined for rules in the Rules Manager.
When you are finished defining the actions to occur, click the Save button. If you do not wish to save the rule, click Cancel.
The Action window will close and you will be returned to the Attach Tab with the rule now displayed as enabled. Note: To disable a ly defined record based rule, select it from the Attach Tab and remove the enabled indicator.
